Faculty of Arts, Charles University is a traditional center of Czech education. It offers almost seventy study programs. The Faculty of Arts provides the largest number of study programs in humanities in the Czech Republic and it is the only European school where it is possible to study (in various forms) all the languages spoken in the member states of the European Union.

The building of the Faculty of Arts was built between 1924 and 1929 according to a project by architect Josef Sakar. The building was built in the neoclassical style. The site that was chosen for the new building is very important from the urbanistic point of view.
